In respnse, Fender designed the Fender Lead II. With a unique appearance that was still distinctly Fender, this short-lived electric guitar kick started a new creative for Fender.

Now, in tribute to the original '70s model, the Fender Player Lead II features dual-slanted Player series pickups, dual toggle switches and the unique Lead double-cutaway shape.

Creative New Design

With the Fender Player Lead II you have a beautifully unique body shape that is still distinctly Fender.

A double cutaway shape allows for easy reach of the higher frets while its ergonomic curves add to your playing comfort.

Attached to the body is a satin finished maple neck with a modern "C" profile, providing further playing comfort and silky smooth feel.

Atop the neck is a Pau Ferro fretboard with a 9.5" radius holding 22 medium jumbo frets for great, all-rounder playability.

Unique Electronics

Where the Fender Player Lead II really stands out is its unique electronics.

Fitted with a slant to capture the best frequencies from the strings, two Player Series Strat single-coil pickups provide the Fender Lead II's voice.

Equipped with Alnico 5 magnets, these pickups deliver powerful tone and response for a punchy sound.

Allowing you to adjust your sound, the Fender Player Lead II guitar has two toggle switches.

The first of these is a pickup selector switch giving you the following options:

• Position 1. Bridge Pickup
• Position 2. Bridge and Neck Pickups
• Position 3. Neck Pickup

When in Position 2, with both pickups activated, you can use the second toggle switch which allows you to choose between IN phase and OUT of phase options.

With the two pickups in-phase, they work together to produce a reinforced, full and rich sound.

When the pickups are out-of-phase, the pickups work against each other, resulting in thinner tone with distinctive "squawk" and "quack" to really cut through the mix.

You can further shape your sound with the Master Volume and Master Tone controls.

Simple Yet Effective Hardware

Up on the headstock, you'll find six vintage-style tuners providing old-school appearances along with precise and secure tuning.

Fitted to the body of the Fender Lead II is a 6-saddle string-through-body hardtail bridge with individual block saddles.

With no tremolo attached, this bridge, especially with its string-through design, acts as a solid anchor, working with the resonance of the guitar's alder body.

With individual steel block saddles, you get precise intonation along with bright, cutting tone.
