Huge Sound, Maximum Playability
Slipknot and former Stone Sour guitarist Jim Root is renowned for crushing guitar riffs and killer tone. With that in mind, he worked closely alongside Fenders R&D department to develop his ideal gigging instrument, and so the Artist Series Jim Root Telecaster was born.

Sleek Aesthetics
Despite it's familiar body, neck, and headstock shape, the Jim Root Telecaster is very much its own animal. In place of the more traditional aesthetics, Root opted for a Flat White finish, with all black hardware, a black pickguard, black pickup covers, and even a black Fender headstock logo, making the guitar easily stand out from the crowd.
EMG Pickups
Perhaps the biggest indicator that this isn't your average Telecaster would be the pickups. In place of the traditional two single coils that we're all used to, we have a set of EMG humbuckers - an EMG 60 at the neck, EMG 81 at the bridge.
EMG 60 - this high-output humbucker is ideally voiced for sitting in the neck position, producing rich harmonic overtones with bags of sustain. Balancing a range of thick, boosted mids and big lows with singing highs, the clarity and character of this pickup make it perfect for blistering solos
EMG 81 - the pickup that started a revolution. Featuring powerful Ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the original idea behind the creation of the EMG 81 was simple: detailed intensity, with plenty of high-end cut, and fluid sustain. The end result is a pickup that's ideal for sitting in the bridge position, and one that makes your lead-breaks slice right through even the densest mix.
In addition to this, the guitar only has a single control on it: Volume. That's right, no tone adjustment in sight - it simply isn't needed!

In addition to those excellent pickups, the Jim Root Telecaster comes complete with a range of high-quality hardware.
This includes a 6-Saddle String-Through Body Hardtail bridge with block Saddles, and a set of Deluxe Staggered Cast/Sealed Locking tuners, which come together nicely to offer a superior level of tuning stability, even when using alternative tuning setups.
