Since his days with The Yardbirds, Jeff Beck has put his mark as one of the greatest British guitarists ever. But since the Seventies, his weapon of choice has been a Fender Strat, as heard in classic albums such as Blow By Blow. So it comes as no surprise that Fender has decided to pay homage to the guitar heroes' guitar hero, with this stunning signature guitar, now available at selected PMT stores across the UK.
The British Invasion
From his blistering British Invasion beginnings through his amazingly varied solo career and right up to today, Jeff Beck has made the Stratocaster guitar an integral part of his signature sound.
The previous incarnation of the Jeff Beck Signature Stratocaster was met with mixed feelings by the guitar world - they originally decided on a much thicker, 'U' shaped neck which really did make things difficult in the upper fret range. Without compromising on tone, this new Jeff Beck Strat features a soft "C"-shaped maple neck with contoured heel for easier access to high registers. This neck easily compares with any of the Fender Custom Shop profiles in terms of a playability - a real joy for fast fretters and technical solo parts. Other features include a modern, two-point floating vibrato with stainless steel saddles, locking Schaller tuners and an LSR roller nut; a system that provides virtually friction-free operation for Jeff's amazing whammy antics.
The Jeff Beck Stratocaster features an alder body and Fender Special Design dual-coil ceramic Noiseless pickups with five-way switching. The classic, full-bodied roar of a classic Strat remains true, but with significantly less hum.
