The Evans Hydraulic Black Snare Batter Drum Head, 14" is ideal for recreating that classic 70's tone. The fat, short and deep snare tone from the Hydraulic head works without any extras. A thin layer of oil between the two 7mil films supress overtones and control the sustain in a musical way. Famously robust in their holding of tuning, this head is ideal for drums that struggle to stay in tune or those with little experience in tuning. It also looks as impressive as it sound - the finish compliments any kit!
Translucent films add focus to the tone, complimenting the warmth so that it still cuts through a mix. A roughened surface on the film adds more textural options, adding to the warmth and able to be played with brushes. Used by Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy) and Robert 'Sput' Searight (GhostNote), Hydraulics create the warm, fat and nostalgic tone you want to hear.
