The Evans Genera HD 14” Coated Snare Batter Head is a 2-ply head with lots of attack and reduced sustain for a quick sound, featuring an inbuilt control ring.

Twin Ply, Tone Ring Snare Head

The Evans Genera HD has been designed to specifically offer a dry snare sound. It features a twin-ply construction consisting of a 5mil outer ply and a 7.5mil inner, with a 2mil overtone control ring built-in to the underside. The 2-ply build serves to offer added durability while the control ring works to eliminate unwanted overtones and to control sustain.

The result of the twin ply contruction and control ring, combined with the coated finish, is a snare head that has a sharp attack but with a limited sustain and tone.

If you’re looking for a fast, dry, snappy snare sound without lots of ring or prolonged sustain, then the Genera HD is an ideal choice.

Level 360 Technology

As with all Evans drum heads, the Genera HD Coated drumheads feature unique Level 360 Technology.

This technology consists of a steeper collar to the rim of the drum head which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This means the head makes proper contact with the shell ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The rim of the head also features a roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance.

This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. What’s not to like?
