The Evans 14” G12 Coated Drum Head offers single ply feel with 2-ply durability. Suitable for both snare and tom batter.
Single Ply Feel, Double Ply Strength
If you like the sound and feel of single-ply drum heads but often find they don’t last as long as you want them to, the G12 coated by Evans offers the solution.
Featuring a super thick 12mil single ply, this drum head offers the durability you’d expect from a twin ply head but with the feel and response of a single ply.
It’s 20% thicker than most single plies and this serves to offer a deeper fundamental tone with enhanced projection, compared to its thinner counterparts. Add to that the coated finish for extra warmth and focus.
This head has a slightly reduced attack, lots of sustain, bags of tone and a great amount of durability.
If you want a durable drum head that offers a tom sound with a subtle attack, lots of full warm tone and long sustain the G12 Coated is a great choice.

Level 360 Technology
As with all Evans drum heads, this G12 Coated drumheads features unique Level 360 Technology.
This technology consists of a steeper collar to the rim of the drum head which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This means the head makes proper contact with the shell ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The rim of the head also features a roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance.
This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. What’s not to like?
