The Evans EQ3 18" Clear Bass Drum Head features 2 plies of 6.5 mil that offer a great combination of attack and low-end depth. Ideal Live Performance Bass Drum Head
The Evans 18" EQ3 bass head offers a sound that has a good balance between bright and dark. It consists of 2 6.5mil plies which helps to create a sound produces great attack while still maintaining a controlled low-end rumble.
As well as having a good level of attack, this head performances well in terms of sustain and tone, meaning you have the impact of the drum but with added chunky low-end fullness.
If you're looking for a bass head that provides a mix of both power and weight, this is a great choice.
The articulation and endurance of this head, thanks to its attack and durability, makes the EQ3 very suitable for live playing. It won't distort under heavy hitting either.
Evans Level 360 Technology
As with all Evans drum heads, this EQ3 Drum Head features unique Level 360 Technology. This technology consists of a steeper collar to the rim of the drum head which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This means the head makes proper contact with the shell ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The rim of the drum head also features roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance. This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. Sounds like a win win!
