ESP Ltd TE-401 Electric Guitar, Black Satin Finish, EMG 60/81 Pickups

ESP's LTD 400 series guitars have been specifically designed to offer you a premium quality instrument at a price that won't break the bank. These intruments are built using incredibly high-quality materials and electronics, with an aim to endure the rigours of life on the road and in the studio. The LTD TE-401 certainly fits into that category, and is available here in a finish that's so black you get the impression it may swallow your soul if you stare at it for too long.

Professional grade guitar at an affordable price

This Telecaster-esque, professional grade guitar plays as smoothly as it looks, and offers a range of premium features normally found on much more expensive models - whether it's the high-powered EMG pickups, the Groving tuning heads or even the blacker than black finish, the ESP TE-401 is a force to be reckoned with.

The Pickups

The combination of neck and bridge humbucker in this guitar gives you plenty of tonal choices to work with, especially with the pickup selector and tone/volume pots at your disposal too - with the correct settings you can produce sounds to fit pretty much all of your musical needs.

In the neck position there's an EMG-60 humbucker, a pickup that packs plenty of output with a nice balance of thick, boosted mids, big lows and singing highs. The close aperture coils produce an array of rich harmonic overtones and plenty of sustain, and due to the ceramic magnets they deliver a fully treble response with lots of output, making them perfect for distinct single-note solos.

Sitting in the bridge position is the ever popular EMG-81. This pickup utilises powerful ceramic magnets with close aperture coils, and produces a tone that's been speifically designed with detailed intensity, incredibly amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. The nature of this pickup ensures that your leads will slice right through even the most dense of mixes.

Grover Tuners

The tuners on the ESP TE-401 are made by Grover, one of the best in the business. These machine heads provide highly accurate tuning and stability due to their design, giving you a smoother tuning experience with a high degree of backlash elimination. Combined with the LTD Fixed bridge, these tuners ensure that you rarely (if ever) lose your tuning stability, regardless of how agressively you play or bend your strings.

The Price

You get all of this premium-quality goodness for less than £850. It might seem like a lot, but think of this guitar as more of a professional-quality investment for a serious musician - the build quality, electronics and overall stability means that this guitar will serve you well for many years to come.
