Get some vintage kick drum sounds!
This is totally "old skool" and awesome: trigger it from the built-in pushbutton or an external (non-MIDI) electronic drum pad - in fact it works perfectly with the EHX Clockworks device, as seen in the attached video - and you can also pass external sounds through the gated amplifier via the aux input. The Super Space Drum lets you create, control and manipulate a stunning array of synthesized sounds.
Precise Controls
So, just how does it manage to do all of this? The secret is down to the excellent control mechanisms on the unit itself:
Freq Controls
Start Knob - sets the starting point of the frequency sweep, from 20 Hz to 4 kHz
Stop Knob - sets the end point of the frequency sweep, between 20 Hz and 4 kHz
Time Knob - controls the speed at which the sweep travels from the Start to Stop frequencies
Sens Knob - determines the sensitivity of the SSD to an external trigger
Volume Knob - controls your output levels
Mod Controls
Mod Switch - a simple On/Off switch for modulation engagement
Depth Knob - controls the depth/amount of modulation present
Rate Knob - controls the modulation rate, allowing you to choose between 10 Hz and 1.5 kHz (set this high enough and you produce ring mod sounds)
LED - a simple indicator of when the SSD is powered up
Pushbutton Trigger - triggers the SSD to create an array of amazing sounds
You can use this pedal as a standalone, or hook it up to an external trigger (Such as the EHX Clockworks) along with more EHX Super Space Drums or even EHX Crash Pads to actively produce your own synthesised drum beats in a live or studio setting. The only limit is your imagination.
