Electro Harmonix Hot Wax Dual Circuit Overdrive Pedal
It's always exciting when your favourite pedal company decides to combine two of your favourite pedals into one unit. Even more exciting when they choose to include a Blend control, letting you determine how much of your dry signal is present in the mix, making it perfect for Bass as well as guitar!
Needless to say, with the Hot Wax from Electro Harmonix, it feels like Christmas has come early for me!
Two Overdrive Circuits in One Pedal!
Fusing the awesome Hot Tubes overdrive (a reissue of the classic 1970s CMOS overdrive) and the more recent Crayon (a versatile, full range overdrive circuit) into a single, hard-wearing chassis, the awesome Hot Wax is as versatile an Overdrive unit as you could wish for.
Each circuit in the Hot Wax can be selected individually: either play with the Crayon on it's own, the Hot Tubes on its own, or have both channels selected with the Crayon driving the Hot Tubes into oblivion.
As if that wasn't enough for you, the Hot Wax also features a 2-band Bass & Treble EQ for increased flexibility, and (my favourite feature) a Blend control, that lets you blend in your dry signal with your overdrive signal, making it perfect for either guitar or bass! Just thing: overdriven/distorted bass, without losing any of that precious low-end!
