This new pedal is a joint collaboration from Earthquaker Devices and Death By Audio - the Time Shadows II - a Subharmionic Mulit-Delay Resonator that brings their sonic soundscape trips to your melted mind.
Switching to the left, the controls of Time Shadows are entirely the creation of EarthQuaker Devices' resident genius, Jamie Stillman. Flip the switch to the right, and you delve into the mind of the eccentric Oliver Ackermann from Death By Audio, teetering on the edge of reality.
Between the both of them, you will have everything to destroy brains and break monotomy.
Controls
Both sides utilize the same straightforward controls: Time, Span, and Filter. Despite managing the same parameters, each mode produces vastly different results.
Time - Controls the length of the delay
Span - Controls the level of intensity
Filter - On the EQD side, it manages an envelope for the filter frequency and a gate for the cutoff to the input of the delay. On the DBA side, it controls the filter frequency and the shift point of a precisely phased delay line for pole zero interpolation.
The EQD Side
The EarthQuaker Devices side transforms your music into the sound of a jazz space bazooka! This pitch-morphed fuzz delay filter packs so much attitude, it’s intimidating. It takes your input signal, blasts it with digital distortion, mixes in a polyphonic sub-octave, feeds it through a delay, and then sends it through a highly resonant envelope-controlled lowpass filter.
The DBA side
The Death By Audio side features a multi-delay filter remorphinator that ranges from icy shimmers to cosmic space cave echoes with bouncing repeats. In the middle position, it functions as an energy beam, lifting your earthly transmissions repetitively closer to the heavens while plunging deeply into the infernos.
Flexi-Switch Technology
This relay-based, true bypass switching style allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching style switching. For standard latching operation, tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and then tap again to bypass.
Since the switching is relay based, it requires power to pass signal.
