Earthquaker Devices Night Wire V2 Harmonic Tremolo Pedal
Out of stock
Unavailable for purchase
Fresh from the romantic, moonlit love-nest of Akron Ohio, and pain-stakingly hand-crafted one at a time, I bring you the new and improved Night Wire V2 from EarthQuaker Devices - a boutique Harmonic Tremolo effects pedal like no other!
A handmade box of warbly fun
This feature-rich harmonic tremolo pedal takes the traditional harmonic tremolo that bit further, allowing the centre point of each filter (high and low pass) to be adjusted individually for different tones!
The Controls
First you get the Rate Toggle, which allows you to choose from one of two ways to control the tremolo's speed. Attack lets you adjust the speed by pick attack, with the Rate knob controlling how sensitive the dynamic tremolo is (pick harder for faster speeds etc.). In Manual mode, the Rate control adjusts the speed like a common tremolo.
With the Frequency Toggle you get three modes to play with:
- Manual - in Manual mode you can set the centre point to a fixed position with the frequency control.
- LFO - in LFO mode the filters are continually swept, with the frequency control adjusting the speed
- Attack - in Attack mode the pedal picks up on the attack of your playstyle and dynamically adjust the sweep accordingly, with the frequency control acting as a range controller, much like with a standard envelope filter (the harder you pick the strings, the more severe the attack!)
Once you've chosen the mode you want, the controls themselves are actually fairly instinctive to use:
- Level is where you set the output level, with Unity gain being at around noon (pretty self-explanatory this one)
- Depth allows you to adjust the depth of the tremolo - for more turn clockwise, for less turn counterclockwise. When set fully counterclockwise, the amplitude modulation will be removed and the Night Wire V2 functions as a fixed filter, envelope controlled filter or phaser, depending entirely on where the frequency toggle is set.
- Rate controls the speed of the tremolo in Manual mode and the sensistivity of the dynamic tremolo in Attack mode.
- As with Rate, the functionality of Frequency depends entirely upon which mode you are set to. In Manual mode it controls the centre frequency of the filters, in LFO mode it controls the rate of the sweet, and in Attack mode is controls the sensitivity of the envelope.
New and Improved Design
With the Night Wire V2 you get the same wonderful sounds as with its predecessor, but with a bunch of upgrades to keep you chugging along. The most noticeable upgrade would be the all-new V2 Flexi-Switch, which replaces the original On/Off switch, and allows you to choose between operating the pedal in a classic latch mode, or in the new Momentary mode.
In addition to this, the Night Wire V2 has also received a circuit update, greatly improving the signal-to-noise ratio, and granting the pedal even more output and tonal versatility than ever!
