You Have Six Spells At Your Disposal!

For anyone thinking that I might have been spending too long playing Skyrim or watching Hawk The Slayer, you're probably right... however, let me just explain a little: The Afterneath is a loving reference to the famous tabletop RPG "Dungeons & Dragons", hence the awesome little wizard silhouette on the front of it. Once you've had a listen to the swathe of dreamy, magical sounds that it can produce you'll understand fully.

Let's have a look at the spells controls housed on this solid little wonder:

First there's Length which controls the decay length of the reverb, ranging from short and single echo to an almost endless cascade of sound.

Diffuse is used for adjusting the spread of the reveb, whether you want a sharp and attack driven sound or something more ambient and washy.

Then there's Dampen, with which you determine the brightness of your tone.

Drag is arguably the most fun feature on the pedal, as it's the control which separates the delay lines letting you choose between full Delay (extreme counter-clockwise) or full reverb (extreme clockwise) - personally I recommend letting some notes ring out whilst you manually turn this dial slowly from one extreme to the other for a fun warped speed effect, but I think we've already established that I excite easily and should probably lay off the caffeine.

Next we have Reflect, with which you control the regeneration of the reverb. With this function you can range your reverberations from a chaotic deluge to something much more controlled, and if you turn it up high enough you'll get the pedal to self-oscillate!

Finally we have Mix, which you use to blend the wet and dry signals coming from the pedal. Despite never getting fully wet, the clean level is gradually lowered to the point where it appears to be so.

Now, don't just take my word for this, but this pedal is an absolute must-have for anybody who feels that a simple reverb pedal just isn't enough for them. As with all pedals from EarthQuaker Devices, the Afterneath V2 uses a standard 9v DC power supply with a negative centre barrel. We highly recommend that you use a pedal-specific, transformer isolated power supply rather than a normal one, as this would reduce the risk of current noise and would protect your pedal from unclean power. Do NOT run this pedal at higher voltages than what is stated. The current draw of the Afterneath V2 is 65mA.
