Acapulco Gold V2, from EarthQuaker Devices

Brand new to PMT, and freshly made by a wandering expedition of prospectors and speculators at EarthQuaker Devices, the Apapulco Gold (V2) is an incredibly simple-to-use distortion pedal that can bring you the openness, clarity and crunch of a dimed tube amp, but at a fraction of the size.

Less Is More

Those geniuses at EarthQuaker Devices have decided that simplicity is most definitely the key here, and I think I love them all the more for it. How do you use this pedal? Simple. The footswitch turns it on... and off. That huge dial, aptly named "The Big Knob"? That controls the output level (volume) of the pedal. Everything else is in your hands. Quite literally. Want less gain? Turn down the guitar's volume knob. Need a darker rhythm tone? Then lower the tone control on your guitar. Nice and simple.

At full volume the Acapulco Gold roars like an angry lion, but turn the volume down a little and you'll get yourself a nice raunchy overdrive sound. With the guitar set to minimum volume, you get a nice spangly sound.

And that's just on one pickup.

Imagine the possibilities available to you if you had a guitar with seperate volume & tone controls for each pickup and a three-way selector switch... this tiny little single-knobbed wonder is now suddenly a three-channel tonal juggernaut, and all at the flick of your wrist!

Features

  • Controls: The "Big Knob" (yes, you read that correctly)
  • Dimensions: 4.625" x 2.5" x 2.25" with knob

All EarthQuaker Devices effects pedals run on a 9 volt DC power supply with negative centre barrel. Pedal-specific power supplies are recommended, as they filter out the "dirty" power signals, eliminating extra noise. Do NOT run this product at a higher voltage.
