All Maple Shells

HVX Process

Devised by vice president John Good and the DW Custom Shop team, the DW Performance range are constructed using a proprietary process.

This HVX method uses a blend of the latest grain orientation technology and hand selected maple to deliver shells that produce rich resonant tone, cutting attack and low-end punch.

Each shell is made of a precise pattern of long and short grain plies that are placed into the mould with alternating grain direction to ensure a strong shell build.

The shell is then baked under pressure in the mould before being instantly taken out of the oven and moved to a pressurized cooler where the glue crystallizes quickly.

The shells harden to a perfect cylinder to offer improved tuning and optimal tonal resonance.

Keep It Chrome

All of the drums in the DW Performance series are fitted exclusively with chrome hardware to deliver a classic look and consistent style across the full range.

The kit features Turret Lugs which are a scaled down version of the famous DW lug to offer an instantly recognisable aesthetic.

The 10” tom is fitted with 1.6mm triple flanged hoops and the 12” and 16” toms have 2.3mm hoops to deliver versatile tone and an even response across the kit.

The floor tom comes complete with chrome steel 21” legs for reliable support and the kick drum features low mass die-cast claw hooks to provide reliable, rattle free hold.

Reliable Remo

Offering reliable durability and rich resonance straight out of the box, this DW Performance kit is fitted with specially made DW by Remo USA drumheads.

Featuring a mainly clear design, the DW Coated/Clear heads have a coated tone ring to ensure just the right amount of muffling with plenty of resonance.

Each drumhead has a crimped flesh hoop to aid durability and maximise vibration.

This DW Performance kit has a coated/clear bass drum batter head with an inlay ring and an Ebony resonant logo vented head. The toms feature coated/clear batter heads and clear resonant heads.

Sound Aiding Tom Support

Both the rack toms of this DW Performance shell pack are fitted with DW’s patented Suspension Tom Mount system to provide strong sound aiding support for your rack toms.

The STM attaches to the rack toms via 4 lugs to ensure complete separation of the metal mount from the wooden shell.

By ensuring complete isolation of the shell the tom is allowed to vibrate freely to achieve its maximum resonance ensuring you gain your optimum tom tone.

In addition, the mount helps to reduce choking of the tom and aids easier tuning because it doesn’t include any washers or grommets that could inhibit the lug rod receivers.

Patented Tension Rods
