Warm Maple Tone

The shells of this DW Drums Performance Series kit are constructed entirely from 8 plies of hand selected North American hard rock maple to ensure a sound filled with versatile tone.

The maple wood serves to deliver all-purpose tone filled with even highs and mids combined with full warm lows.

A great option for live performances, these DW Drums produce the cut to pierce through the mix on stage whilst also delivering the full depth of tone required to make a real impact.

Each shell is finished with DW 45 degree back cut bearing edges to offer a modern, attacking tone filled with low punch, ample resonance and piercing projection.

HVX Technology

This DW Performance kit is made using DW’s proprietary HVX process in order to ensure strong, perfectly round shells that produce versatile tone and optimum resonance.

Devised by vice president John Wood and the DW Custom Shell Shop team, the HVX process uses a precise pattern of long and short grain plies combined with grain orientation technology.

Grain orientation works by alternating the direction of the ply’s grain with each ply that is put into the mould to ensure shell strength and shape integrity.

Once in the mould the shell is baked under pressure and then immediately moved from the oven to a pressurized cooler to allow the glue to crystalize quickly to deliver a hardened, perfectly cylindrical shell.

The result of this process is a drum kit that delivers robust strength, consistent tuning and vibrant resonance to ensure full, rich tone.

Chrome Hardware

Each shell is fitted with Turret Lugs which are a scaled down version of the famous DW lug to provide an instantly recognisable aesthetic.

The rack and floor tom are both framed with 2.3mm graduated counter hoops while the bass drum features low mass die-cast claw hooks to ensure a strong hold and consistent tuning.

The 14” floor tom is fitted with DW standard chrome plated steel 21” legs.

Patented Tension Rods

This DW Performance Gold Sparkle kit comes fitted with DW true-pitch tension rods as standard to deliver more precise and longer lasting tuning.

The true-pitch tension rods feature 20% more thread than standard rods to deliver more exact tuning and a stronger hold of your settings to ensure consistent tuning throughout your playing session.

Standard tension rods generally have one thread every 1.05mm but the true-pitch tuning rods have 1 thread every 0.8mm.

What this means for you is that you can more easily achieve the exact sound you require and can trust it to stay in place while you play.

STM System

The rack tom of this DW Performance kit features the patented Suspension Tom Mount to ensure strong hold and precise placement of the tom without jeopardising the natural sustain of the drum. 

The STM fixes to the rack tom via 4 lugs to prevent direct contact with the shell which would detrimentally affect the shells ability to vibrate properly.

Isolating the mount from the shell allows the rack tom to resonant freely to achieve its optimum sustain.

In addition, the mount doesn’t feature any washers or grommets that could interfere with the lug tension rod receivers and cause tuning and chocking problems.

So, by keeping the mount separate from the shell and eliminating any problematic parts, the STM provides reliable support for your tom while promoting natural, sustain filled tone.

Remo USA Heads

The DW Performance 3-piece shell pack is fitted with DW Remo USA drumheads as standard to ensure superior sound and reliable durability.

The toms feature Coated/Clear Batter Heads and Clear Resonant Heads while the bass drum is fitted with a Coated/Clear Batter with an inlay ring and the resonant side is an Ebony Resonant Logo Vented Head.

The specifically designed DW Remo Coated/Clear heads feature a predominately clear designed but incorporate a coated tone ring to ensure just the right amount of muffling while still providing ample resonance.

Each of the heads features a crimped flesh hoop to ensure unrestricted vibration and optimum durability.
