While most tension rods have 1 thread every 1.05mm, the true-pitch rods have one thread positioned every 0.8mm which works to provide you with more intricate tuning adjustability.

Mag Throw

Proprietary Process

What sets this snare apart from other maple snares is the way in which it is made.

Utilising a process developed by executive vice president John Wood and the DW Custom Shell Shop, this snare drum is crafted using DW’s proprietary HVX process.

The HVX process works by using grain orientation technology (alternating the grain direction of each ply) to produce a super strong shell with optimum shell integrity.

Once the plies are fitted into the mould they are baked under pressure in an oven before being immediately moved to a pressurized cooler to allow the glue to crystallize quickly.

The end result is a harden snare shell that is perfectly cylindrical to deliver superb tuning range and optimum resonance.
