The Dreadbox Darkness stands as an innovative digital reverb pedal, born from a collaboration with Sinevibes. Going beyond conventional reverb, this pedal features a granular pitch shifter, the renowned large reverb from the Typhon synthesizer, and a gate generator. Notably, it also incorporates a micro looper capable of freezing up to 150ms of the input signal, allowing for experimental and creative effects.
Developed with an open architecture philosophy, the Darkness boasts a single versatile formula, providing a spectrum of reverb possibilities. From subtle and smooth reflections to expansive shimmering and infinite reverbs, it offers a wide sonic palette.
The pedal includes variable controls for pitch shift, time scale modulation, decay times, dry/wet balance, freeze/looper function, damping filter, gate effect, and more. With true stereo inputs and outputs suitable for various signal levels, the Darkness ensures flexibility in connecting audio, line, or instrument-level inputs.
Key features also encompass switchable options such as pitch shift (+/-12 semitones), gate effect, and reverb tails. The silent CMOS buffered bypass switching allows seamless operation, and the pedal is powered by an optional 9V DC power adapter.
