An All-New Elixir for Low End Lovers

How it Works

Anybody familiar with even the most basic of EQ systems (which is pretty much every musician who owns an amplifier or anyone who has tinkered with a mixing desk) should take one look at this pedal and know instantly what around 60% of the controls on this pedal are about. For the benefit of everybody though I'll break down the controls for you and give a brief explaination as to what each of them does.

Easy to Master

First there's the Master control knob. Whilst the Level control is solely for the Overdrive signal output, the Master control is for the overall volume output, which makes it perfect for tweaking the clean mode output and servingas a DI level control.

Mix the Wet with the Dry

Next is the Blend control knob, which allows you to accurately mix both the Clean and Overdriven signals - the Clean signal remains at unity gain whilst (as stated above) the Level control knob is for adjusting the Overdriven signal.

Pump Up The Volume

Then we have both Level and Drive. The Drive control determines the saturation level in the Overdriven signal, whilst the Level knob lets you actively set the volume of this signal.

Shape that Tone

Next we have the two switches: Attack and Grunt. The Attack switch is a 3-way switch that sets how much of the treble content to saturate, with "Boost" emphasising extra clarity and presents; "Flat" leaving the register untouched; and "Cut" reducing the amount of hi-frequencies affected. The Grunt switch acts in a similar way for your low-frequency content, giving you the option of three different boost levels prior to clipping.

Then comes the 4-band EQ of Bass (100Hz), Lo Mids (switchable 250Hz, 500Hz and 1kHz), Hi Mids (Switchable 750Hz, 1.5kHz and 3kHz) and Treble (5kHz). Each of these controls grants you up to a +-12dB boost/cut to each respective frequency range.

Straight to the Desk

Finally, there's the extra output socket, or Direct Output to give it its proper label. This is a balanced version of the quarter inch output and is perfect for a DI Box style functionality, allowing you to to run directly into a PA or studio mixing console.

New and Improved

Whilst the above mentioned controls are more or less identical to the ones found on the previous Vintage Deluxe pedals, the all-new Vintage Deluxe V3 houses a couple of extra tone-shaping features:

• Lo Mid Switch - allows you to switch the low-mid frequency range by an entire octave, giving you a huge 12dB of cut/boost at the 500Hz mark in addition to 1kHz
• Hi Mid Switch - similar to the Lo Mid switch, this High-Mid frequency control allows you to add an extra 12dB of cut/boost to the 1.5kHz frequency range, as well as the standard 3kHz, thickening your sound considerably
