Founded in West London by David Rainger in 2009, Rainger FX are a boutique effects-pedal making company, with plenty of unique designs to their name.
Each and every pedal is designed to meet the needs of the modern guitarist and bassist, and there's nearly always more to them than meets the eye.
When it comes to catching your eye, there are few to match a Rainger FX pedal. Take the infamous Dr. Freakenstein Fuzz Pedal for instance: the top panel looks like the kind of equipment found in a mad scientist's laboratory, illuminated VU meter and "knifeswitch" included.
Don't go thinking it's all for show though, as every eye-catching aesthetic on these pedals serves a purpose other than merely looking the part. Not only that, but the sounds they generate are simply breath-taking.
Most Rainger FX pedals also have parameters that can be altered in realtime via your lab assistant: Igor.
Igor MK2 is the name given to the Rainger FX expression pedal. This relatively small, lightweight, disc-shaped unit can be activated via your foot or by hand.
As opposed to the usual, clunky, wah-like expression pedals we're used to, Igor is a simple to use, pressure-sensitive pad with no moving parts.
When used with a Rainger FX pedal, Igor can have some truly mind-blowing effects.
Whilst we do hold some Rainger FX pedals in stock here at PMT, there are some for the range that we don't. However, don't let that deter you: if you see one of their products that you really want, we'd be more than happy to get it ordered for you!
