THE GIBSON LES PAUL GUITAR OF TODAY - GIBSON MODERN AND GIBSON ORIGINAL

Later on, the more recent Gibson Les Paul guitars are split into the classic styled Gibson Original and the Gibson Modern variations which push the envelope in terms of finishes and design. Whether you're after a time-honoured piece or the latest tech under the hood, we've got you covered at PMT.

GIBSON LES PAUL STUDIO

The Studio is a quintessential Les Paul at a reasonable price. It's fitted out with 490R and 498T humbucker pickups, offering up trademark LP tone. Furthermore, a Slimtaper neck makes it supremely comfortable to play.

GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD

Arguably the most popular Les Paul in the Gibson lineup, the Les Paul Standard has adorned some of the world's most recognised stages. Featuring a carved AAA flame maple top, asymmetrical Slim Taper neck profile and BurstBucker Pro pickups, the Standard offers a little something for everyone. 4 push-pull knobs and an internal 5 position DIP switch delivers a wealth of tonal variations.

The latest Les Paul Standards come in a wide range of luxurious finishes from the 50's and 60's eras. The 60's finishes include Iced Tea, Sunburst, and Bourbon Burst. Purists will love the classic 50's Gold Top, Heritage Cherry Sunburst and Tobacco Burst.

GIBSON LES PAUL CLASSIC

Designed on the slightly later 60's Les Paul models, the LP Classic comes equipped with the split open-coil Burstbucker 61R & 61T pickups. As a result, the Classic offers a bit of extra versatility and punch, all wrapped up with an authentic vintage vibe.

GIBSON LES PAUL SPECIAL

Perhaps one of the outstanding pieces in the new Gibson Original Collection is the Les Paul Special.

Modelled on the original 1955 Les Paul, the Special returns to the 'Golden Era' of Les Paul designs. A solid 'slab' mahogany body feels authentically vintage, whilst a unique pairing of double P-90 pickups delivers a characteristic voice from the ages.

Additional Gibson Les Paul Special features include a fat 50s-style mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, wraparound bridge, binding on the neck and additional controls for the rhythm pickup and the 3-way toggle switch. Available in a gorgeous TV Yellow finish.

In addition, the Les Paul Special is also offered up in a Tribute DC edition, featuring a unique double-cutaway body that pays homage to the Gibson SG.

GIBSON LES PAUL TRIBUTE

As the name implies, the Tribute is a fitting homage to the man himself. The LP Tribute faithfully captures the vibe and feel of some of the first Les Pauls ever made. Whilst the rounded maple neck profile and 490 Humbucker Pickups exude Vintage style, the Les Paul Tribute features ultra-modern weight relief. A welcome advancement without sacrificing tone or sustain!

CUSTOM SHOP LES PAUL GUITARS

Whilst your standard Gibson Les Paul is a more affordable option, Gibson Custom Shop guitars offer something a little bit more spectacular. These historic, authentically aged pieces are for the serious collectors and players that want something to appreciate in value over time.

Gibson True Historic Les Pauls and Collector's Choice Les Pauls are also more pricey instruments that embody everything that established the Les Paul as a timeless instrument.

FAMOUS GIBSON LES PAUL PLAYERS

Some of the most famous guitar players in the world are well known for playing a Les Paul, including Slash (of Guns N' Roses fame), Jimmy Page (of Led Zeppelin), Zakk Wylde (of Black Label Society and Ozzy Osbourne fame), Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend (of The Who) and Joe Perry from Aerosmith.

A great list of guitarists, known for their unique and incredible styles, have released their own Gibson Les Paul Signature models. The Slash 'Appetite' Les Paul Standard, the Peter Frampton 'Black Beauty' Les Paul Custom and the various iterations of the Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul have all been wildly popular releases.
