BOSS DR-01S Rhythm Partner, Organic Grooves Generator for Acoustic / Unplugged Musicians
When it comes to rhythmic accompaniment for an acoustic musician, it's difficult to top having an actual percussion player there to riff with. Unfortunately, such creatures are few and far between (reliable ones at least). Now, thanks to BOSS, you no-longer have to suffer the emptiness caused by a lack of rhythm when you perform!
The DR-01S Rhythm Partner from BOSS is the world's first virual percussionity, and has been designed specifically with acoustic musicians in mind. Packed full of more organic percussion sounds than you can shake a set of maracas at, the DR-01S makes an ideal companion for acoustic guitarists, vocalists, ukulele, violin and even piano players.
Featuring a highly user-friendly interface, the DR-01S can cater beats and variations to suit any style, with the high-quality, onboard speaker providing the kind of sound that blends easily with acoustic instruments for a much more organic feel than you'd get with (for instance) an electronic rhythm machine. In addition to this, the DR-01S can be powered either by the included AC adapter OR by six AA-sized batteries, meaning it can be used in any setting: whether you're performing at your favourite open-mic evening, or even busking on the high-street!
The Perfect Rhythm Partner for Unplugged Music
The simple and uncomplicated nature of acoustic music is easily one of it's biggest draws - very little needed in the way of setup, you just pick up your instrument and away you go (unless it's a piano you play...in that case it would be more of a metaphorical "picking up"). The DR-01S plugs into this vibe with ease, with it's user-friendly interface, easy setup options and, above all, organic sounding instrument voices producing an array of tasteful grooves without ever getting in the way of your own instrument.

The innovative cabinet design, custom speaker, and high-efficiency amplifier in the DR-01S help to produce an impressive sound, in what is a small and portable package. And don't dispair if you think it wouldn't be suitable for a larger venue: just connect your Line Out socker to an acoustic amp or PA system!
Hands-Free Control with Optional Footswitches
For those times when adjusting rhythms / voicings on the front panel just isn't feasible, you have the option of utilising up to two additional footswitches to the DR-01S. You can assign each footswitch to a variety of functions, including start/stop, tempo up / down, tap tempo, pattern variation and more! Also, if you're feeling a little adventurous, it's possible to assign any one of the DR-01S's percussion voices to the footswitch, allowing you to literally tap out the rhythm in real time! Perfect for those pesky fade-out moments in songs where you'd otherwise have to just switch the DR-01S off completely.
