In partnership with the amazing Rocksteady Music School, the leading provider of in-school rock and pop band lessons for primary age children, these free lessons are designed to encourage and inspire potential music makers to start learning an instrument, allowing all ages and abilities to have a musical experience that could turn into a lifetime of enjoyment - or even a new career!

Sonali Banerjee, Music for All’s General Manager explains: “The Learn to Play weekend is needed now more than ever and through our regional music making events we aim to inspire as many people as possible in experiencing the unique joys and benefits of music making. The arts enrich our lives, our community and economy, as well as improving our mental health. We welcome all age-groups and particularly encourage youngsters who may not have the opportunity to experience music lessons at school, to come along and try out an instrument of their choice.”

Rachel Hawker, Director of Education at Rocksteady Music School, said: “We’re delighted to once again be partnering with Music for All and PMT to run inclusive and fun free music lessons as part of the Learn to Play Day 2024. These music taster sessions, led by highly trained musicians from Rocksteady Music School, will give people the chance to experience the incredible benefits that come from playing music in a friendly and supportive setting. We can’t wait to see all the aspiring musicians – regardless of their musical experience – at these events across the country!”

Music for All believes everyone should have equal access to music making. The charity supports disadvantaged music makers by providing cash grants for tuition and instruments and by donating instruments directly. The Learn to Play ’24 event is generously supported by the NAMM Foundation.
