Martin has unveiled the new Martin David Gilmour D-35 Signature Custom Artist Models in both 6 & 12 String options
The new signature Martin David Gilmour D-35 Custom acoustic guitars have been unveiled ahead of what would have been Namm 2021.
They've been a long time coming and we're super excited about them here at PMT. These guitars, feature custom designed appointments, superb tonewoods and some really interesting signature features that fans of David Gilmour and Pink Floyd will really appreciate.

The Martin D-35 David Gilmour Custom Signature Edition is an homage to the Pink Floyd legend's treasured D-35, which has been his main recording and writing companion for over four decades. Sinker Mahogany Tonewoods
The Martin D-35 David Gilmour Signature Guitar models are the first D-35s ever made with neck, back and sides of sinker mahogany. These beautiful tonewoods were personally chosen by David for their warm, rich tones and striking grain.
Adirondack Spruce with VTS Top
Martin worked with David Gilmour to decide on an Adirondack spruce Vintage Tone System top. This combination ensures you get that old-world sound you want from a Martin, but a more projected, clear tone. The guitar has been constructed with a vintage gloss finish, which will only get better with age, slowly showing signs of wear and really bringing out the best tones with each day you play it.
Martin David Gilmour Designed Signature appointments
One of the cool things about the Martin David Gilmour D-35 Signature guitar is its unique neck shape and fingerboard pattern. Aptly titled the David Gilmour Shape and David Gilmour Dot Pattern respectively, these features were crafted to David’s specification and the neck shape appears on the 6 string, exclusively.
A specially designed headstamp features on the reverse of the headstock which tops off the signature David Gilmour design nicely. You also have Waverly Relic Nickel tuners and antique white binding which is the icing on the cake really.

fans will know that for over forty years David Gilmour's Martin D12-28 12 string was a constant in David Gilmour’s recording & song writing palette. When that guitar eventually went to auction in 2019, Martin arranged a collaboration with David and ended up creating a 12 string that paid homage to the vintage instruments but was ready for his music today.
The result is simply stunning.
