Roland Boutique SE-02; a powerful analogue synthesizer from the Roland Boutique Designer Series that delivers incredible vintage sound.

Roland SE-02 Analog Synthesizer

In a unique collaboration between Roland and Studio Electronics, the Roland SE-02 heralds the beginning of the new Roland Boutique Designer Series.

Vintage Sound, Incredible Power – Analogue Synthesizer

With its monophonic synthesizer engine, the Roland SE-02 features three voltage-controlled oscillators, a voltage-controlled 24 dB low-pass filter and a dual gain-stage amplifier.

The oscillators benefit from six different types of waveform with kind of character and warmth you can only get with true analog VCOs.

Furthermore, the VCOs in the Roland SE-02 analog synth are temperature stabilised with automatic tuning so you can enjoy all the benefits and none of the pitfalls.

Whenever you imagine classic, vintage synth tone you think of thick, rich lows and clear, vibrant highs and that’s exactly what the Roland SE-02 delivers.

Modern Versatility

With an extremely solid build and rugged metal top, combined with high quality knobs and switches – the Roland SE-02 is strong enough to withstand all the rigours of the road.

Even with controls to adjust just about everything on there, the Boutique SE-02 analog synthesizer is nice and compact and extremely portable.

It also features convenient 1/8-inch stereo jacks, reducing cable clutter, and full-size standard MIDI jacks for connecting to any kind of keyboard so you can control the Roland SE-02 remotely and using Chain Mode you can increase polyphony by connecting additional Roland SE-02 units together via MIDI.

CV inputs for pitch and filter frequency and trigger in and out means the Roland SE-02 works great with modular setups and other vintage gear.

External audio signals can be routed through the filter section while USB audio and MIDI capabilities allow you to easily integrate with a computer setup.

More Musical Sequencer with Great Modern Options

Roland’s SE-02 synth features a powerful 16-step sequencer that adds an extra dimension to your sounds. You can sync it up to external tempo via MIDI, USB or trigger input and per-step gate time, adjustable glide, tempo and patch number are stored with each sequence.

With performance features geared towards creativity you can set shuffle, scale, direction and first/last steps on the fly.

Synth parameters can also be automated by sequencing changes – just press a step and move a control!

Also, despite the Roland Boutique SE-02’s diminutive stature, the sequencer is fun to use and extremely intuitive so it’s an awesome feature for using both in the studio and live on stage. You can store 128 sequence patterns and construct 16 songs with can have up to 16 parts each.

The Roland SE-02 also features three types of cross modulation (XMOD), a ripping filter feedback loop, a tempo-syncing LFO with nine waveforms, envelope sweeping and inverting, oscillator sync, a noise generator and a tempo-syncing delay.

Roland have really set the bar high with the SE-02; giving you all the tone and flavour of a vintage synth but with all power and convenience of a modern, cutting-edge instrument.
