Eight Analogue Inputs

Allowing you to take on a multitude of sources for your recording projects, the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 Gen 3 features eight analogue inputs.

These include four mic/line inputs on the front and four fixed-line inputs on the rear which are great for recording your synthesizers, drum machines or other line-level sources.

Two high-impedance, high-headroom instrument inputs allow you to record your electric guitar or bass directly into the 18i8 USB audio interface with no unwanted distortion or clipping.

Best Ever Preamps for the 3rd Generation

Really setting the third generation of the Scarlett range apart from previous iterations are its new preamps.

The Scarlett 18i8 features four of the best performing mic preamps ever used in the Scarlett series.

They provide incredible quality audio and feature an optional Air setting. Using this setting you can recreate the Air effect found on the original ISA mic preamp which gives your vocals and acoustic recordings enhanced openness and a brighter quality.

Each mic preamp also features a pad in order to capture higher-level signals without clipping.

In addition to these fantastic preamps, the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 3rd gen is equipped with improved A-D and D-A conversion allowing you to record and mix at up to 24-bit/192kHz audio quality.

All About the Outputs

Compared to the previous generation, the Scarlett 18i8 3rd Gen rack mount audio interface features two extra line outputs along with speaker switching technology for dual monitor setups – essential for serious studio mixing.

With two independent headphone outputs, both the engineer and recording artist can monitor during the session.

Virtual loopback inputs are also present so you can capture the stereo feed of any combination of hardware input and software playback which is ideal for podcasting and livestreaming.
