Road-Ready Construction

An acoustic guitar will always get its voice from the woods used in its construction. For this CD-140SCE 12-String, Fender have opted to use a Solid Spruce Top, sitting on a body of Laminated Ovankol.

The use of a solid Spruce top provides the guitar with a versatile tone, and plenty of projection for getting your audience to hear your playing. This top piece has also been given a Sunburst finish, evoking the classic era of Fender guitar construction.

In addition to this, the combination of a sleek Mahogany neck, rolled fret edges, and a single cutaway body design, results in fast, easy, and comfortable access to every note on the Walnut fretboard.

12-Strings

As opposed to the more traditional 6-strings, this particular Fender CD-140SCE comes equipped with twice as many - a whopping 12 strings!

For a 12-stringed guitar, such as this one, the lower four strings of the guitar (E, A, D, and G) are partnered with a second string that's tuned an Octave higher. In addition to this, the top two strings (B and E) are accompanied by a second string that's tuned to the same note.

The end result is an aurally pleasing sound, that's much fuller and more harmonically resonant than a six-string variant.

Fishman Electronics

As an upgraded feature of previous models, this CD-140SCE comes equipped with a Fishman Presys electronics system.

This combination of an under-saddle pickup and Fishman preamp allows you to amplify your sound via acoustic amp or PA system, making the guitar perfect for performing in front of crowds, or even recording in a studio.
