The Planar II utilises custom planar drivers, which offer exceptional precision, clarity, and detail compared to moving coil designs. The drivers consist of a matrix of neodymium magnets, allowing them to exert force evenly across the entire surface area of the diaphragm. This balanced and meticulous force results in a remarkably natural sound with less distortion when compared to traditional designs.
The combination of high-end components and exceptional design quality results in rich sound quality that capture every subtle detail with extreme sonic clarity. The full-bodied sound provides rich and sparkling highs with a pronounced midrange and a punchy bass response. The headphones feature an even lighter design compared to their predecessor and come with specially chosen ear pads for added comfort during long mixing sessions.
