Professional Grade Bass Compressor Pedal
A good compression unit is a crucial tool in the arsenal of a recording bassplayer - not only are they used for levelling your audio signal, but they're essential for preserving your dynamic range.
Not only does the Ashdown Studio Compressor tame your dynamic range, preserving consistency between the loudest and quietest notes, but it gives you a comprehensive way of controlling the manner in which it does.
Threshold & Ratio
In addition to the standard Gain control (signal level), the Ashdown Studio Compressor features control knobs for Ratio (amount of compression) and Threshold (the level at which the signal limiting begins).
With a low Threshold setting the compression happens earlier in your dynamic range, wrapping the signal sooner before sending it through to your amp. With high settings the compression happens later, allowing more of the signal to pass through before the compression stage.
Not Just For The Studio
Despite being primarily aimed at studio bassists, the Ashdown Studio Compressor is also ideal for use in a live setting too. Simply set it up as you would any other pedal (preferably at the start of your pedal chain), determine an appropriate stage volume, and then adjust the pedal's settings accordingly.
Premium-Quality Construction
While some compression units may seem to suck the life out of your instrument, the Studio Compressor is specially designed to retain all of that natural bass tone whilst controlling your levels.
