With the OriginAL Amp Head, Ashdown have decided to go back to basics with a no-frills powerhouse bass amp head that focuses purely on tone creation – the result is a lightweight and portable, easy-to-use amp head that delivers incredible tone in spades.

Simple Yet Powerful

When connecting to the amp, you can use the passive/active switch to set the amp head up for your source so you get a clear signal path tailored for use with either a high or low output instrument.

At the front centre of the OriginAL bass amp head you’ll see a signature Ashdown VU metre allowing you to fine-tune your input level in true vintage Ashdown style.

Integrated 5-band EQ allows you to adjust the standard bass, middle and treble frequencies along with lo-mid and high-mid frequencies so you can quickly dial in the sound you want.

To further tailor your tone to our exact liking, you can make use of the Shape control which allows you to get that mid-scoop in the frequency range you’re using; really pushing those all-important building blocks of your bass tone.

Comprehensive Connectivity

An easy-to-reach DI output as found on the front of the OriginAL bass amp head along with independent FX send and return, allowing for an uninterrupted, clear signal path.

On the rear of the bass amp head you will find two jack speaker outputs with a minimum 4 Ohm load, giving you a lot of flexibility when partnering the amp with a bass cabinet.

Another convenient inclusion is a headphone output found on the rear of the amp head making this not just a great amp for stage and studio but for practising too – play long into the night without bothering family or neighbours while you listen to your performance privately.
