The Aquarian Modern Vintage 10” Drum Head uses modern production techniques to perfectly combine the aesthetic and sound of vintage drumheads. It’s a single ply drum head that would work well for both batter and resonant purposes.
Aquarian Modern Vintage Head
The Modern Vintage range of drum heads was designed to replicate the look and sound of vintage calfskin heads without the use of animal skin. The result is a classy looking drum head with a low, warmth of tone.
Single Ply
The Aquarian Modern Vintage is a single ply, medium weight drum head contructed of one ply of 10 mil film. The one ply build of this drum head makes it ideal for use as both a tom batter head and a resonant side head.
Special Coating
Aquarian have applied a special coating to the Modern Vintage series of drum heads. It’s this coating that gives the range the look, feel and warm sound of calfskin heads. This slightly thicker coating helps to slow down the vibration of the drum head to produce a lower, warmer tone with a soft feel and a classic vintage look.
