Building and improving on the success of the original EWI, Akai have launched the EWI 5000 with a load of new sounds, features and small design improvements to keep it's place on the top spot of the electronic wind instrument market.
No other emulation offers the portability and authentic playing action as the Akai EWI!
EWI 5000 comes loaded with more than 3GB of top quality sounds from the SoNiVoX sound library, including traditional horns, brass, woodwind and string sounds, plus progressive synths, leads, and other electronic sounds to emulate the likes of 'Steps Ahead'. The EWI 5000 includes 12 touch-sensitive metal keys on the top and an 8-wheel, thumb controlled octave roller on the bottom. An EVI Mode allows brass players to operate the EWI as an Electronic Valve Instrument too.

Aside from the high-quality and authentic wind instrument sounds that are playable out the box, EWI 5000 also includes eight control knobs for tweaking Filter, , Chorus, LFO, Reverb, Breath and Bite Amount, Semitone Tune and Fine Tune effects to tailor your sound and store it for later use. Both USB MIDI and 5 pin MIDI are onboard for controlling software synths or MIDI sound modules, whilst a 6.3mm jack output allows you to connect to an amplifier, PA or mixing desk. A 3.5mm mini jack headphone output allows for silent practice at home, and charges via USB or wall power and also includes a USB cable, wall adapter, wireless receiver, and a neck strap.
